An excellent article, and an interesting & talented man. He ought to come out to TACOMAYA in Chelem on funky market days to check out the art available there.

Wow. What a great article. My fiance and I have been contemplating a move to "down souther", and I've been researching Merida through this wonderful blog. What's really interesting is finding this article here on a realist painter who was successful in commercial design and happened to go to the same art school I did. (I'm not from Dublin, but half Irish and from Boston, so pretty close ;)) I've been pursuing web design as opposed to fine art because I have to live, and I'm fed up with the art world. Other than street artists, and certain realists, there's nothing out there for me. But web design satisfies my creative and geeky side. I recently started painting again and want to pursue realism, which seems the most natural to me. So it's very inspirational to read about this man and his art and where he lives and what he was already done.

BTW, there is some very good writing on this blog. Thank you for that. Maybe I'll see you all soon.

I really enjoyed your article, what a brilliant artist, I wanted to jump on a plane to Merida today and walk in the shadow of a truly interesting man who has lived his dream... I am originally from Ireland, own a home in Mexico and cannot wait to visit Merida again.

Thank you,
