Casa del Arco can make your Merida Yucatan dreams come true!

Throughout this renovated colonial, the restored touches will remind you that you are in another world, a world once elegant and formal, now luxurious and relaxed with those same elegant touches… the pasta tiles, polished to perfection. The stone walls, the high ceilings, the chandeliers… and the colors of Mexico!

Casa del Arco is one of the more spacious vacation rentals in Merida, with four bedrooms on two stories, and three and a half bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms are upstairs, have double-size beds and share a bathroom. Upstairs, all the floors are covered with lovely Saltillo tiles, terra cotta tiles that are cool to the touch and soothing to the feet.

Downstairs, two more bedrooms each have queen-size beds and their own en suite bathrooms. The house can sleep up to four couples easily.

The main level also has a traditional Mexican kitchen, decorated beautifully with Talavera tiles throughout. The spacious room is the heart of the home and has plenty of room for people to gather and cook. And it also sports a not-so-traditional dishwasher!

The patio downstairs has a lovely patio, complete with a fountain, whose gentle sounds fill the downstairs rooms with their soothing cadence.

And in the back of the property, a filtered swimming pool, flanked by lit columns that lend an air of romance and exotica to nighttime swimming!

And a rooftop terrace overlooking the city completes the fun. It’s a great place to watch the sunset, the fireworks on special occasions or to catch the cool breezes.

And the location of Casa del Arco is both convenient and interesting.

San Juan Barrio is one of the oldest sections of the Merida’s centro historico. It is also the place from which many of the small busses, called combis, leave and arrive from all parts of the Yucatan Peninsula. Sit in the newly renovated and leafy park, with its fountain, beautiful old church and children’s playground, and you will see people from all over the Yucatan.

When you get tired of that, the main Merida mercado is just a few blocks away in one direction, the Plaza Grande is another few blocks in another direction, and Parque L’Ermita is a few more blocks in a third direction.

Casa Granada

Casa Granada is a two bedroom, two bath colonial vacation rental in the heart of Merida’s historic centro.

Tucked away behind a beautiful facade on Calle 62 just north of Calle 47, this Merida vacation rental is only a two block walk from Santa Ana Park, a lovely grassy city square with flamboyanes trees that bloom in the spring, shading park benches that look out to a central fountain. Many events are held in Santa Ana Park during the year, and it is the site of the Santa Ana Mercado. The mercado sells fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as sundry items, gifts and clothes. Half of the mercado is a lively food court, ringed by a handful of local cooking establishments who serve up delicious Yucatecan food daily. Just one block beyond Santa Ana is Paseo de Montejo, with all its attractions. Walk five blocks in the other direction down Calle 62, and you will find yourself in the Plaza Grande, the center of Merida.

Casa Granada is an airy, open house with the sound of water from the central courtyard fountain that can be heard in every room. The living room, dining room and kitchen are bright with skylights, open to the courtyard or enclosed with glass doors to be air conditioned for comfort.

The two spacious bedrooms look onto the back garden, where original hand-built stone walls surround an inviting swimming pool. A patio equipped with outdoor furniture is the perfect place for enjoying a coffee in the morning or dining al fresco on a tropical night. And there are plenty of those here in Merida! Casa Caballito

Casa Caballito is a charming 200-year old Spanish Colonial home ideally suited to one or two couples seeking old world charm and modern comforts. 

Located in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Centro Historico, Casa Caballito is positioned on a quiet non-bus street just three blocks north of Santiago Park.

The Merida English Language Library is little more than a block away and the festivities of the main square, Santa Ana’s arts district and Paseo Montejo’s twin mansions and sophisticated dining scene are all within an easy walk through the best part of town.

This architect-designed home is a stunning blend of Spanish Colonial charm and modern, open-plan comfort. The house features 18-foot wood beamed ceilings, original pasta floor tiles, a tranquil high-walled courtyard with limestone feature wall, and a fabulous, contemporary open-plan second-story living room and terrace that’s the perfect place to spend cocktail hour.

The ground floor king bedroom, off the courtyard, has an ensuite bathroom with barrel ceilings, high-pressure rain shower, and 3 foot-long soaking tub with louvered wooden door that can be opened to the courtyard.

The upstairs bedroom (also with king bed) features a beautiful porthole window with wooden detailing, ensuite bathroom with high-pressure rain shower, and a walk-in closet. The ingenious design means the house stays cool with little effort. Both bedrooms are air-conditioned and all rooms throughout the house have ceiling fans.

 

The lounge/living area upstairs features banquette-style built-in sofas that can seat between 6-8 people, with plenty of room to spread out for couples. A flat screen television with Cablemas TV (including a good selection of English language channels), DVD player, iPod dock and high-speed wireless internet are all included.

The brand new kitchen has a six-burner stove, full size fridge, microwave oven and dishwasher (a rarity for Merida) and comes fully equipped with an 8-person dinner setting, quality wine glasses, cookware, flatware, juice squeezer and French press coffee maker. The pantry is stocked with kitchen basics making shopping at Santiago markets and eating in a delight. In the dining room an extension table can accommodate six people with ease and floor to ceiling sliding glass doors give a year round alfresco feel.

Casa Caballito is the ideal Merida retreat for one or two couples, offering complete privacy, luxury and comfort along with all the classic historic charm in the perfect location.

Casa 81

Casa 81 is an intimate but spacious home located in the San Sebastian/Ermita area of Merida’s centro historico. The house was designed by the owners and their architects, Mercedes Sanchez and Alvaro Cervera, to be comfortable and elegant at the same time. A shaded passageway connects an interior patio with fountain and shaded conversation area with the beautiful back garden and pool area. In between the two outdoor spaces are a large and open kitchen with a central island, a dining room with a table for seating for eight, and a raised living area that opens onto the pool and garden.

There are two bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs with the laundry room and outdoor bathtub, and one separate bedroom and bath downstairs by the pool, where there is also an outdoor shower. 

We will accept well-behaved pets and we accept smokers. Maximum six adults. May not be suitable for children under ten due to safety issues (around the pool and upstairs balconies).

This is Merida living at its best!

We are very open to long-term renters and are happy to give you a reasonable monthly rate. Just ask!
