This week, here is the entire 2009 season’s calendars for the Yucatan Symphony Orchestra. We will continue to put those events in our weekly lineup, but wanted our readers to have future dates around which special events and visits to the city can be planned.
Spring / Summer Calendar: Symphonic Orchestra of Yucatan
This is one of the most exciting symphony seasons anywhere in the world! Not only does our new director have a fabulous resume, but the guest performers are world famous in their own right. Be sure and click on the names for which we have links – and get your tickets early!
Location: All Performances are to be held at Teatro Peon Contreras
Time: Weekdays: 9:00 PM, Sunday: 12:00 PM (unless otherwise specified)
Admission: $150, $100, $80, and $60 pesos (students & INAPAM 50% discount)

Fernando Valcarcel, Guest Director. This young man is from Peru. He is in great demand both at home and throughout the world. Hopefully, we can entice him back to Merida again and again!
Flute Soloist: Zendra Meador and Harpist: Ruth Bennett – both members of our Symphony Orchestra of Yucatan.
Music: Mozart’s Overture: The Marriage of Figaro, Motzart’s Concerto for Flute and Harp, and Beethoven’s Symphony 8.
