There MAY be other things going on in the cemetery, but we have not been able to confirm that. Traditionally, most Day of the Dead celebrations in the Yucatan are done in the privacy of the family home. We have also heard, but have not seen personally, that the cemetery in the town of Hoctun (near Izamal) is quite festive on the Day of the Dead. Oh, and by the way, the cemetery in Merida can be reached by heading south on Calle 66, past the park of L'Ermita to about Calle 90. You'll see the entrance to two different cemeteries (or panteons) on your right. The first entrance is to the larger cemetery. Andrew,
