Laura,
Not only do a lot of hotels here have wireless connections, there are many other places to hook in. The zocalo (the park in the middle of the Centro Historico) has wireless internet, as do a number of parks around town (L'Ermita and Parque de la Paz are two we know of for sure). VIPS (sort of a Yucatan version of Denny's) and Sanborn's also have wireless internet, as do the three Starbuck's now in Merida.

Thanks for publicizing the tango show! I saw this group in Teatro Merida last April and searched for Esly Mendez about 6 weeks so that I could take classes with her. They have some great dancers lined up, and a few of us "newbies." The cost of the tickets is 50 pesos; they're on sale at the box office now as well. It's open seating, so get there early so you won't miss anything!

Joyce,
We do our best to make certain that we list all of the events each week. Sometimes, especially near the first of the month, announcements are slow in coming in. However, this year, we are lucky that this holiday falls on Saturday (Nov. 1st) and Sunday (Nov. 2nd) - so we will be able to give our readers a good bit of advance warning of events and their locations. To read about last year's festivities, just go to Yucatan Living's search box and do a search for Day of the Dead. You should come up with plenty of events that repeat every year... and, by the way, get bigger and better every year. Do "stay tuned" to Yucatan Living and I'll get the events to you as quickly as they come to me.

Hi Khaki,
I'm planning my first visit to Merida November 1st -15th. Is it possible to find out, in advance, events planned for that time. I must say, the events scheduled for August is most impressive. I realize The day of the dead will take place during the timeof my visit Is this a holiday I may enjoy? Sure would love to hear from.
My regards,
Joyce
