Events: Time for Art Shows and The Fair

This Week… starting November 15, 2010

Municipal Fiestas This Week

Yucatan Living Halacho Fiesta:  7 Day Event
Begins on Nov. 21 this year. This fiesta takes place during the third week in November and is a traditional festival (county fair). Halacho is located on our border with Campeche. The Templo de Santiago Apóstol and the ruins of Siho Oxkintok can both be found there.Yucatan State Fair 2010

Yucatan Living The Yucatan State Fair at Xmatkuil
This fair has an average of 75,000 visitors per day. The crowds are not as large as they have been in the past, but they are steady. In the past, there would be a huge influx of people for some of the performances and that would make things like parking difficult. This year, there are plenty of visitors to the fair but they seem to be coming at a pretty constant pace. If you attend the fair, we would like to suggest that you stop by the interactive farm and see some of what goes on in the interior of our state. We think you will be pleasantly surprised.

They are dedicated to the future of the animals in Merida and in the surrounding area and have demonstrated that teaching children about ways to improve the quality of life for pets that are already here and avoiding the birth of unwanted pets is one of the best investments we can make in the future. Please attend this event and support the work of AFAD. If you can, please also consider donating food and/or wine for the event as well.
