Yucatan Living Samahil Fiesta: June 29 through July 7
This fiesta is in honor of San Pedro Abad, patrono del pueblo. It can easily be found by zooming in on this map.  Samahil is in a busy area, with plenty of artisans and craftsmen. This fiesta is a must attend event.

Yucatan Living Orquesta Sinfónica Infantil de Yucatán “Pedro Hoil Calderón” Children's Symphonic Orchestra
42 children from Motul, Merida, Izamal and Timucuy play the oberture for The Barber of Sevilla, Rayosy Polka by Strauss, and Samsom and Dalilah from C. Saint Saens under the direction of Mtro. Jonathan Renteria.

Yucatan Living USA 4th of July, along with Canada Day Celebration
Picnic/BBQ, Games and Dancing to Live Music. This is an all you can eat event with a wide variety of BBQ delights.
Location: La Cueva del Pirata Restaurant at MarMex Hotel in Progreso.
Directions: In Progreso: Take Calle 27 Centro 1.5 km to Calle 40, left to beach. From Chicxulub: Take Calle 29 to High School, then right to beach.
Time: 2:00 PM “until”
Admission: Ages 18 and over: $125 pesos per person, Children 12 and under: $50 pesos,
Ages 13 to 17: $100 pesos

Yucatan Living U.S. Consulate Town Meeting
Please arrive 15 minutes early, bring your U.S. passport or other photo ID (driver license, etc.) with you as identification. You will pass through airport-style security screening. Please review the list of prohibited items http://merida.usconsulate.gov/prohibiteditems.html. 
A Yucatan state civil protection (“Protección Civil”) representative will present about hurricane season.
Representatives from the U.S. Consulate General in Merida will present on safety and security, routine services, and overseas voting.
We have invited police (Ministerio Público) to speak about how to report crimes, file a police report, etc.
There will be time for individual questions and other topics you would like to discuss.

Yucatan Living Pandora’s Box: Engraving and Collage Techniques Workshop
Monday and Wednesday, July 2 to August 1

This workshop will be led by Lilian Rivera Juarez, who was born in Mexico City but now lives in Merida. She has received several international awards in China and her work has been exhibited in Mexico, Austria, Spain and China.

Yucatan Living Free Improvisation: A Music Workshop

Monday July 9 to Thursday July 19


The teacher for this workshop is Dario Bernal Villegas, a drummer, composer and improviser, originally from Mexico City, trained in Mexico and London. The goal is to help the student find new ways to explore their instrument.
