Jenna - thank you so much for letting us know Yucatan Living helped prepare you for your visit! Yes - we do put out a weekly schedule of events every Monday. Do enjoy the rest of your visit and come back often. It could take vacations forever to make your way through all there is to see and do in Merida and Yucatan! ...but, of course, you could always move here and then it would be simple! :)

Yes, we publish this events list weekly and add to it during the week. We work very hard to list everything that's going on... and many things are not publicized well in this city, so it's real detective work sometimes.

About the new post office, it looks like they are putting the finishing touches on it now (we just drove by the other day). There will indeed be a walkstreet between it and the arched pasillo. And the building itself is painted pink and white and looks like something straight out of the Disney movie Pollyanna! It's perfectly gorgeous!

We encourage ANYONE who has something going on or knows of something coming up to please email us at blog@yucatanliving.com with the event info and we'll add it to our list.

And Jenna, glad you are finding it useful and we hope you keep reading Yucatan Living!

Muchisimas Gracias! You are so helpful. I´m visiting Merida for 6 weeks, living with friends, and reading about the city on your site beforehand really helped to prepare me. Do you put out a schedule like this every week? There is sooo much to do here- I can see why you moved here! Keep up the good work!

Carlos, it looks like the museum is moving into the old Post Office and they are closing off Calle 56-A, where it intersects with Calle 65. That whole block is going to be a green area, connecting the buildings on the two sides of the street. I don't see a separate page for the Museum of the City yet, but pictures of the project were in el Diario on the 13th of May: http://www.yucatan.com.mx/noticia.asp?cx=11$3502000000$3548304&f=20070513 With as much traffic as there is in town - hurry here, hurry there, it can never hurt to have as many more places to relax as we can get!

New Museo de La Ciudad to open in June! WOW!
Exact fecha unknown to me.
My wife, Working Yucateca, Ariadna Caceres de Gallegos, long faithful and trusted employee is looking forward to the change.
She does not know much details as of yet.
Where is the Correos moved to? I don't know?
Ariadna has to walk some blocks now from the Chuburna 21 parada. Good exercise verdad?
I hope the locals, new arrivals, and tourists will enjoy the nuevo Museo.
