I just found your web-site after living in Paamul, Q. Roo for 13 years. My wife and I frequently visit Merida and look forward to learning about everything we seem to miss. Thanks, j

Being the son of the Legendary Client #9 I have dealt with the burden of my fathers musical passion. This is what ultimately drove me to join the military and take up a life-long tour of duty in Afghanistan. I am deep undercover on a co-op mission so I am unfortunately not able to release many details. But I remember when I was on tour with the LEGENDARY YUCATONES in Bosnia when I was 8 years old. On this tour, my father had another close call with death. He ate a poison fruit imported from El Salvador, by an individual who did not like his controversial original material and thought the world would be better without him. But the attempt on his life failed we are all so lucky that he remains with us to lift our spirits and hurt our ears today!

This is just perfect. I'm taking 3 co-workers/friends for their first Yucatan peninsula tour next March and Merida is a 3 day stop. YucatanLiving is an integral part of my planning for them to have a short but intensive Meridan experience. I scour, cut and paste and paraphrase (yet accredit) each article of your ezine. Muchas, muchas gracias. It wouldn't be half as good without YL.

I have a little background on the legendary Yucatones that I think your readers might be interested in. After opening a few times for the supergroup Process during their late eighties foray into the Far East Bay, The Mukatones decided to adopt the name the crowds had christened them with: The YouSuckatones. With the timely (the only time they were) passing (they are now playing their roots music from six feet under the ground) of drummer Ollie "Snare-ily Breathing" Simbol and Ulises "Floor-bored" Knotts, Clete and Cli were able to start anew. By just removing the departed's initials from their name they were able to form the Yucatones.

I opened for these guys back in the sixties when they played in Lubbock, and was sadden to here that all the members but Cleetus X and Client # 9 had died in a group spelunking accident. They do such a great cover of my song BLUE BAYOU, I'm thinking of coming back from the dead myself to see their show.
