Water Aerobics and Personal Trainer Certification and Recertification
Location: Akumal
Dates: Nov. 5 through Nov. 12
Due to the recent downturn in the American economy, these classes have not been filled to capacity. This
invitation offers both expats and tourists an opportunity to take some great water aerobics classes, and get a Water Aerobics Certification or Personal Trainer Certification – or, if already certified, you can pick up some CEC credits toward recertification. It is not necessary to be in attendance on all dates listed, so there will be plenty of time to visit and enjoy the area. To learn more about this wonderful opportunity, including a class schedule, visit WaterART Certification in Paradise. There is a contact link to Lydia at the bottom of that page. To learn more about the sponsor, visit WaterARTS Fitness International.
Coming in November: Life Long Learning Courses
Learn Spanish, how to cook in Yucatan, how to retire in style, relationship communication, digital photography, Merida Magic, and how to write your memoirs. For a full schedule of classes for this Fall and Winter, visit Life Long Learning’s website.

Dia de la Raza (Day of the Race)
Everybody else may move Columbus Day to the nearest Monday, but Mexico, along with several other Latin American nations, continues to celebrate Columbus Day on October 12. Today, many of us are the product of a hard won multi-cultural and multi-ethnic society that is richer than it would have been had either side not been exposed to the other. So – on Columbus Day, we celebrate "the beginning" of the new world that brought us to
where we are today. Perhaps we should keep that in mind as we go about the business of improving and protecting the world we have inherited. Tomorrow, Oct. 13, 2008, is Columbus Day in the U.S. and Thanksgiving Day in Canada. Yucatan Living wishes everyone a happy holiday!
