Regarding the "Most Popular Articles" section, "Yukatan Survivor," Working Gringa asked for the translation of "Procuraduria General de Justicia." In English this would read: General Attorney's Office of Justice.

My wife and I enjoy traveling to some of the more obscure places in the Yucatan. Two weeks ago we were back in Ixmul , a forgotten ruin site and home to the Church of the Blistered Cross. So we decided this morning to go to Mama and then Tecoh. We drove into Chumayel , south of Mama, because Julia Kalmon had told us a story about her visiting a grave yard there that held a grave to a tax collector from the time of Montejo.

We then went on to Mama where they were just setting up for a big fiesta on Sunday. We knew a friend of ours, who is studying the the effects of immigration from Mama to the U.S. and the monies that is sent back to families still in Mama. We asked around town for the curly headed, chubby Americano and were quickly directed to his "office" in a local eatery. We plan to return on Sunday after the Leone's game and meet up with him again and enjoy the party. He's kind of a "celebrity" in town.

We were then on to Tecoh but alas not much was happening. A local informed us the the fiesta was next week. Unfortunately the church was closed for the day. We did have a marvelous lunch at a cocina economica called Multun across from the church. It was our second time eating there. The first time we had fabulous Chilis Rellenos and this time it was meat balls. Don't let the appearance of the place put you off, the food is great.
