Merida Events: Time for Dance

This Week… starting May 30, 2011

Municipal Fiestas This Week

There are no municipal festivals or fiestas beginning in Yucatan this week – however, that does not mean we are without celebrations…

Yucatan Living Progreso: Dia de la Marina (Navy Day)
On the night of May 31, there is always a concert by the Banda de Marina that includes marches in Plaza Militar. The next morning, June 1, there is a procession of private and Navy boats from the dock to Chicxulub Puerto, where they lay a wreath, in the water, to fallen marines. The procession then returns to the dock where it began.
