Yucatan Living Movie: Perdidos en Tokio (Lost in Translation)Lost in Translation
Americans abroad, almost innocents. Charlotte, fresh out of Yale with a degree in philosophy, is in Tokyo with her husband, a photographer whose work takes him away that week. She’s adrift, her soul on ice. Bob, mid-50s, a semi-retired movie star, is there to make $2 million doing a whisky ad. At home are a wife and young children, but he’s jaded and melancholy. Both are jet-lagged, and Tokyo’s culture and language push them further off kilter. When they meet in the hotel bar and spend their free time together for a few days, possibilities arise amidst the losses. Their friendship becomes an experience: does he have something to teach; can she reconnect him to life?

Yucatan Living Expo Alternativa Joven 2009
In 1997, Merida Joven began as a means of educating high school students about all of the educational and training opportunities in the City of Merida that they have Expo Alternativa Joven, Merida 2009available to them once they graduate. Now, we see that some college students are dropping out, and for the same reasons that college students drop out all over the world. School is boring. They hate their major. They want to do something different and to be something different – but they are looking ahead at the same old curricula and the same old degrees. Not so anymore! The world is expanding at such a rate that graduate and post-graduate students can almost design their own degrees – and now, 72 educational and training schools in Yucatan are listening and working to help students be all they can be. This expo is as important for those who deal with young people as it is for the young people themselves, so do go and look around at what is going on in higher education in Yucatan.
