Pam,
Your best bet is the English Library and the Yucatan Living Events Listing (http://www.yucatanliving.com/category/events).

The Merida English Library is the de facto gathering place for English speaking expats in the area. The Events listing each week lists what is going on in Merida, and you are likely to find other expats at some of the events.

Just keep an open mind, an open heart and a smile on your face and you'll find out a lot about living in Mexico!

My timeshare week in Merida falls in the second week of April, 2009. It will be my second time in Merida. I would love to learn the ins and outs of being an American living in Merida. Is there a hang-out where I can meet others? I am a baby boomer but don't really care what ages I meet, since my parents and children are also interested in Mexico - I'll scout any hangout, regardless of predominant generation. Gracias!
