Richard,
our prices for local events will always be in pesos. Its hard to believe that you could get tickets to such great performances for so little money, but that's the way it is here!

Part of the reason we are providing this calendar is linked to the difficulty (for most of us) in sorting out the events on both the City and State sites. If you are looking for anything that is happening at the Olimpo, you can find it here: http://www.merida.gob.mx/capitalcultural/

BUT - once there, (a) you have to be able to read Spanish and (b) you have to know where to look.

There is a weekly calendar right in the middle of the first page - and an interactive calendar that can be reached by clicking on Cartelera de Eventos. - and even these are subject to change - often.

The Classic Cinema does not have a page of its own, so any information about the movies, or other VideoSala offerings, will be on the calendars.

The phone numbers for the Olimpo are: 9 42 00 00 Ext: 80121, 80122, 80125, 80124 y 80126

We try to update Yucatan Living's calendar as quickly as we receive new information so - again - please do check back often for updates.

I like the organisation of the events by day.

I was listening to Cafe medio manana on Radio Universidad this morning and they mentioned some films showing at the video sala there this week but I didn't catch the details. I went looking on line for info but came up empty handed. Maybe you could get them to send you press releases about their activities. There are often lectures and films but I often don't hear about them in time.
