Lovely! Amazing! Inspirational! Brava! Go Habla! I'm in awe about the way you talk about this work. Thank you, Kurt and Marimar, for being at the helm of it all.

Peace, Love, Kudos,

I am most impressed by the use of the arts within the described curriculum and methodology. I only wish I had read the word "musica" more often. I myself have probably learned more from struggling with the real meaning my favorite Latin American songs than by most other means. I guess that's because music is my personal favorite art.

I sure do hope to take a class at Habla soon.

John, we aren't sure about the good folks at Habla! but we know there are other schools that teach English that hire people with no teaching experience at all. So if you want the job, you'll probably be able to get it. Wages are low, but better than nothing!

I will be visiting the Merida/Progreso are this coming November in hopes of finding a place to retire. I am a retired teacher after teaching for 33 years. I am hoping to continue to teach at least part time once I move into the area. Although I am a certified teacher that has taught all grade levels, I do not hold a TESL certificate. Could you let me know what my chances are in being hired to teach English in the Merida area?

Jos. M Fullwood, you can find the latest schedules at their website, www.habla.org (see link at the end of the article).

If it isn't up on the website yet, just email them directly... their email is also on the website.
