Thank you for the wonderful interview. I have visited Merida 3 times since November 2008 and love it. I understand exactly what you mean about you changing inside but the locals continuing to treat you the same. I feel very differently about the "White City" with each visit. My husband and I will be purchasing a home there within the next few weeks, and are very excited about this. Unfortunately we will be unable to move there on a long term basis for a few years.
Regarding the Swine Flu. We visited the end of April, when the outbreak has just begun, and are just fine.
I glean MUCH information from Ellen and her crew at Yucatan Living.
Oresztesz, bless you and your family.

Saludos

The US Centers for Disease Control recently announced that the H1N1 flu is actually winding down in Mexico, with declining numbers of cases. Elsewhere in the world, it is rising. It may be healthier to visit Merida at this point.

Oresztesz, I am Hungarian too! Én is magyar vagyok!

I am happy to find a successful Hungarian in Mérida, Mexico!

I am planning a trip to Mexico, but now the swine influenza scared me a bit, so I guess it will be next year...

Drop me an e-mail if you want to meet... If you want to have a little drink or something.
