My son (15) was amazed and loves it! My daughter loves UADY! The city is very safe and people are gracious and lovely. Doing business is possible, takes longer, but worth it, a definite can-do. Is this a leap of faith? Of course, but you will be richer for it, a definite increase in quality of life. Children do really well here (they adapt like crazy and kids here are friendlier than in the US and more accepting) and the schools (private) are affordable and wonderful. I would really like one of our side-projects to be taking out a tiny mortgage on an old colonial, and fixing it up bit by bit, as we have the time and the scratch. The potential for houses in the 50k-100k range to be turned into absolute palaces is amazing. But in short, and to reaffirm what we said in the interview... everyone...stop guessing, come down, and give it a shot. And give us a ring while you're here. :) First thing’s first.
