Bryan’s will be on your left about three blocks… a big building. You can’t miss it!

Notes: Bryan is Paul Trotter’s middle name. And this is Paul and Wayne Trotter’s latest restaurant offering in Merida, a high-energy, well-lit, upscale bar & grill. On “tasting night” before the opening, we tasted Angus steak tartare, tuna carpaccio, roasted pork with salad, all washed down by a merlot from South America and a few perfect martinis. The architecture and interior work to create a place full of energy and activity… it feels like a happening place. Nice choice of outdoor seating or indoor tables and booths. Upstairs climate-controlled wine cava gives the place a modern feel, as does the open and very active kitchen. Interesting interior treatments include a wall of wood and backlit onyx. There’s nothing new in the wine list. Same as Trotter’s, which isn’t bad, but we’re always looking for more variety, especially of California wines. Final analysis? We’ll go back.

  1. We pass by it often and will be trying it soon after reading your review. Love wines from Chile and Argentina! :)
    Thanks for keeping us informed….

  2. Excellent, was a very pleasant evening,
Abigail very nice, and Luis García magnificent.
    Thank you very much.

  3. Quiero llevar a la familia a cenar, es inapropiado para niños?
(Translation: I want to bring my family to eat… is it appropriate for children?)

  4. Alejandro, Bryan’s is more of an adult place to eat. We’ve eaten there a few times and have not seen children, but I’m sure you and your children would be welcomed. There isn’t anywhere for them to play while you are eating, but if you went early enough in the evening, the place will be less crowded. Let us know!

  5. Alejandro,

[In my opinion, it depends on the age of your children. Younger children might be a little too bored, but it is fine for .... say, ages 8 on up.

Bryans has a well-mannered atmosphere. Most children would be fine, but maybe bored. ]

  6. Bien! Everything is perfect… the ambiance, the food, the drinks, the music. A real place to enjoy and share.

  7. We have been now several times and “never” disappointed.
Food, service & ambiance all fantastic.
I just wish they would lay the wine bottles down.

  8. EXCELENTE LUGAR Y UN AMBIENTE MUY AGUSTO,LA COMIDA RIQUISIMA Y QUE DECIR DE LA BEBIDA SUPER LOS “MOJITOS” Y EL CLAMATO EL MEJOR QUE HE TOMADO!..LES RECOMIENDO DE ENTRADA LA CAZUELA DE MARISCOS ES UNA DELICIA”..=)
(Very rough English translation: “Excellent place and ambiance. The food is the best and I must say, the great Mojitos and the Clamato are the best I’ve had. I recommend the main course La Cazuela de Mariscos (Shrimp casserole…)… it is a delight!”)

  9. What about the prices? How much does each person spend approximately?
