Cafe Alameda

Type: Lebanese
Neighborhood: Centro
Telephone: 928 3635
Address: Calle 58 x 55
How to Get There from the Centro: Go north from the Plaza Grande on Calle 60 and turn right on Calle 55. Left on Calle 58 and it’s on your right.
Parking: Next door in a public lot
AirConditioned: No
Outdoors: Yes, maybe, if they let you sit there. They prefer that you sit in the room up front, and they are usually pretty insistent about it.
Drinks: Beer and Soft Drinks
Hours: Every Day from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Notes: Hearty traditional Lebanese food in a comida economica setting. Helps if you know what you want, because the food isn’t explained anywhere.

  1. sounds like a real winner. Can’t sit where you want to and no explanation of menu….are they setting out to fail or what?

  2. My husband and i have been to this restaurant both times we were in Merida, and both times it was pretty awful. The only reason we went the second time is because i had forgotten how bad it was the first time and my husband was humoring me.Tthe food here is some really crappy Yucatecan version of Lebanese food, any middle easterner would be horrified. Don’t waste your time or money at this place.

  3. We went to cafe Almeda the other day. Some of the food was good, some not so memorable, but they definitely got the hint about the menus and now have them in English and Spanish. The service was totally fine.
