Thank you for clarifying... We had a feeling that the literal translation of "flor de mayo" wasn't correct. However, "flor de mayo" does literally mean "flower of May", though it's not the same actual plant as the "Mayflower". Just like the "cedro" tree here is not the same plant as the "cedar", though "cedro" is translated as "cedar". NEVER too nitpicky :-) we love that kind of detail. According to Wikipedia "Mayflower" refers to Hawthorn,Hepatica,Trailing arbutus or Maianthemum canadense,which all share that common name.
