It would be our intention to expand the house and add a pool. The lot is 14m by 40m. I am told that Chelem is not affected by Decreto 801 as it is affects only areas east of Progresso. The issue here is not so much the rules, but the inconsistency of the current legislation. All new construction should promote this end. The dunes should be protected as well. As I see it, wise legislation promotes development and at the same time protects the beaches for future generations to enjoy.
