Brenda,

The CEMEX site has a foto or two of each house, along with the winners names. For more information or blueprints, you should probably contact the architects involved:

http://www.premioobrascemex.com/ENG/acercade_Edicion18.html

The three generation house is a beach house design. It may or may not work in the city, but maybe if you learn more, you can determine how it may suite your purposes. Or, perhaps, one of the architects could design a house to your liking for your particular site.

They all appear to be in the modern style and quite large. Of course, since the cement company is the sponsor of the awards, they like projects that use a lot of their product. The three generation home is 5,405 square feet. Plenty of room for three generations in that much space! ;-)

Does Yucatan Living and or the Working Gringos have any pictures or information on the green home designed for several generations? If we relocate to the Yucatan, one or both of us may eventually have our mothers or other family members join us and each having their own space to get away would do a lot to maintain happiness in the home, I should think.

If the architect has a web site which may display some of it, that would be great as well. It is with joy that we see that the storm did not greatly damage the Yucatan. My son is in Pascagoula, MS on a project and he says they were experiencing 70 mile per hour gusts and about 60 mile per hour sustained winds this evening, and the tides were as much as eight feet higher than normal with heavy rains projected for the next twenty four hours.
