We know that they have a program to teach Chinese at the local university (UADY), so you might be able to find employment there.

Hello there!
I've been reading the news for a few months already and i must say-i am truly in love with Yucatan now!! Thanks a lot for informatve articles.
We are moving to Merida in December this year... We spent 4 years in good old China and got used to the way of living here, everything is so familiar, so comfortable... But Mexico??? I don't even speak a word of Spanish! My husband is Mexican, so, i guess i shuld have known that sooner or later we will move :)

I am looking forward to moving and i m excited and a little worried at the same time. seems like there's lots of foreigners out there and for sure i will make new friends :) The only thing that bothers me a little is a job.Not sure if i will be able to find a proper job there. I am a teacher, was teaching English as a second language for the past 8 years. i also speak Russian and Chinese fluently, but i don't know if it will be useful in Mexico... Anyway, can't wait to move! i am sure Yucatan is a great place to live in!

Do you happen to know any sites i can check for jobs in Merida?Any tips on job hunting will be appreciated...

Also i was wondering if there is a Chinese comminity in Merida (or a Russian community). It will be nice to find some people who speak Russian or Chinese.

thanks,

Have a good day, everyone!
