We know that they have a program to teach Chinese at the local university (UADY), so you might be able to find employment there.

Hello there!
I’ve been reading the news for a few months already and i must say-i am truly in love with Yucatan now!! Thanks a lot for informatve articles.
We are moving to Merida in December this year… We spent 4 years in good old China and got used to the way of living here, everything is so familiar, so comfortable… But Mexico??? I don’t even speak a word of Spanish! My husband is Mexican, so, i guess i shuld have known that sooner or later we will move

I am looking forward to moving and i m excited and a little worried at the same time. seems like there’s lots of foreigners out there and for sure i will make new friends The only thing that bothers me a little is a job.Not sure if i will be able to find a proper job there. I am a teacher, was teaching English as a second language for the past 8 years. i also speak Russian and Chinese fluently, but i don’t know if it will be useful in Mexico… Anyway, can’t wait to move! i am sure Yucatan is a great place to live in!

Do you happen to know any sites i can check for jobs in Merida?Any tips on job hunting will be appreciated…

Also i was wondering if there is a Chinese comminity in Merida (or a Russian community). It will be nice to find some people who speak Russian or Chinese.

To all Quintana Roo,Yucatan(Merida) and Campeche are great places to live apart from tourism, with Florida so close NAFTA has open many opportunnity for the region in agrobusiness,forestry,furniture making,etc…
