I just returned to the US last night after two weeks visiting friends and family in Mérida. I read your blog regularly, but always consult it heavily just before I visit Mérida. Several friends have asked me what I've learned about 2012 during my stays in Yucatán, and I always tell them I find it interesting that I've found talk about 2012 to be nearly nonexistent there. On this trip, I finally saw two books about 2012 at Dante...one of them written by a gringo. Yet here in Asheville, books about the date are easy to find at the bookstores, and at a music festival a couple of months ago a gringo had set up a tent selling books, calendars, etc. about 2012. I so wish I could tell you that there is a Korean restaurant here, but sadly, no. My mother's best friend was Korean and I grew up eating Korean food... I too am absolutly craving it!! Bulgogi, bibimpap, kimchee.....aaargh. If you find something like that anywhere in the Yucatan, Heather, be sure to tell me, okay? I lived in Korea for 1.5 years and in a Korean neighborhood in Chicago for years, and living here, I am absolutely PINING for Korean food.
