Even in a country like Venezuela, the problem is not the ideology but the fact that a nut case is the president. I strongly believe, and obviously only time will show, that it is not about left or right, black or white, but it's just a new generation, totally different from the "old boys club" the Republicans are. I see at as a real "step change" in politics. I also think that the Demacrate's win will help to reform the Republicans as well and make them more modern and in sync with the people. I also believe that the time where ideology plays a role in politics is gone. Today we face objective challenges all over the world that have to be tackled. Ideologies are not going to get the job done. There might be different solutions to a problem, but people have to sit down discuss them, find agreement on the best option and execute it. Politicians and their parties have to treat a government like a company. Their have to be objectives, their has to be a strategic plan and then their must come a proper execution. Results should be measured against the strategic plan and the objectives. That's true for a company and it should be true for a government. And I believe Obama goes exactly in that direction. Ralph,
