Oh boy! Friends who express concern about violence when they hear I've bought a home in Merida won't be dissuaded should they hear about the 12 corpses recently found (Increased Security). Touting Merida as the safest city in Mexico, as I have, may seem less believable should they hear about the recent narco-traffic killings in the city. Re WalMex: not surprising that one of the principal practictioners of corporate greed and exploitation in the US would try to export the same lack of ethics to Mexico. <em>Enhorabuena</em> to the Mexican judiciary for saying "no way" to that particular American export!
