Spanish for Life
Learning a new language is always a challenge that requires a considerable effort. Learning it in a conventional school where a teacher is instructing a small number of students is always a good option, although it will not always satisfy everyone’s needs. The skills required to learn a new language have to do with each person’s individual background, making learning a unique and special experience.
Different needs and interests mean that the learning process will be more effective if it is adapted to each individual student’s characteristics. It is for this reason that I offer my services as a personal Spanish teacher, teaching on a one-to-one basis.
As a teacher I have taught diverse levels and subjects and I have found that in learning a language, the human factor is fundamental and the individual’s personality and needs should determine the process.
I have had experience with students from 12 to 80 years old and though the objective of learning a new language is the same for all of them, the purpose of learning or the intended use of the language can be completely different.
Roger, Switzerland
I have proven with 12 years of experience that a method producing great results with one student can have a poor outcome with another.
It is true that working with a small group brings the opportunity for communicative experiences of great value. However, if the group is not homogeneous in their language level, or their purpose or attitude for learning, all the advantages of the small group may turn out to be disadvantages.
The knowledge of the language, the Hispanic and Mexican Cultures, pedagogical methods and psychology of cognitive-emotional processes involved in learning a new language all give me the skills to teach responsibly and effectively. I am sure you will be satisfied with the results!
It's Fun AND Effective!
"I have been learning Spanish for the past ten years both at university and at various language schools in Mexico, Spain and Ecuador. Of all the teachers I have had, Monica is the most skilled, the most dynamic, the most fun - and the most effective. I have had one-on-one classes and small group classes with her and either way, Monica's lessons are excellent and you will see results in your ability to understand and speak the language. If you want to learn Spanish, I couldn't recommend a better teacher!"
Kathleen Davies, Canada
If you wish to learn Spanish for
School, University, tourism, living in a Spanish-speaking country, informal chatting or business, I'll adapt to your needs.
If you want your classes to be one-on-one, in a small group, at your house or at my place,
weekly, intensive, step by step… whatever! I can adjust a special program according to your preferences.
My program covers seven different aspects of language:
- Pronunciation
- Vocabulary
- Grammar
- Oral Expression
- Oral Comprehension
- Writing
- Reading
These aspects are taught through immersion in Hispanic cultural themes, structured dialogues, dynamic exercises, real life conversations, songs, movies, games, readings and written exercises, all according to your interests.
Adjusts to Your Learning Style
Jessica Blattner, Germany
If you already speak Spanish and want to master it, or if you want to specialize in a specific area of language (medical, legal, business, etc), I can also offer a program according to these specific needs.
Studying Spanish in Mexico guarantees learning, since you have the opportunity to completely immerse in the language and, in a carefully planned class, you will learn in a natural way.
I look forward to helping you sort out your discomforts with this marvelous Spanish language...which as Miguel de Unamuno, a Spanish writer used to say: It's a “Language made to speak with God...”
