Casa Tranquila
This lovely casa is a restored Colonial in downtown Merida Yucatan furnished with all the modern amenities. The layout flows beautifully from public to private space, from indoor to outdoors… making a perfect place to enjoy a tropical vacation in the Yucatan.
Prestigious local architect Miguel Rojano designed the renovation of this vacation home, combining traditional indigenous materials with a contemporary sensibility to create an elegant, comfortable home.
Some of the modern features include air-conditioning in all three bedrooms, ceiling fans in every room, a filtered and pressurized water system, and wiring for internet & cable TV.
As you enter La Casa Tranquila, original 18′ high ceilings retain the character of bygone days.Double doors with wrought iron protectores invite you into the first sala (living room). In front of you is a second sala, another sitting area.This room is perfect for an intimate gathering, complete with stereo. Double doors lead you beyond to an open-air central patio where you can relax in a Yucatecan hammock or swim in the waterfall pool.
When you return tired from exploring Merida and its surroundings, there are two luxurious bedrooms with comfortable beds and air conditioners for complete and total relaxation.

Location
Casa Tranquila is set in a quiet neighborhood, yet is also only a few blocks from the excitement of the zocalo. It is within easy walking distance to the Santa Ana and Santiago local markets, where you can eat local cuisine, buy fresh fruit, vegetables and flowers, and enjoy a lot of local color and culture. Casa Tranquila is a perfect place to return after a night out in Merida.
Rates
Low Season (Ap. 15 – Oct. 15)
$500/week or partial week (utilities included)
$1,000/mo. + utilities
High Season (Oct.16 – Ap.14)
$650/week or partial week (utilities included)
$1,400/mo. + utilities
Policies
Reservation Deposit varies depending on length of stay. We require $500 to hold a 1 month reservation, $300 for a week or partial week reservation.
Deposit is non-refundable unless we are able to fill the specific time with another reservation.
Depending on the season & length of stay, a "Damage & Utilities" Deposit will be collected in Mexican pesos on the first day of occupancy. Inquire about details when making the reservation.
