Castillo en el Cielo (Castle in Heaven)

Castillo en el Cielo is a five-bedroom vacation rental located in one of the oldest and most authentic historic colonias in Merida, San Sebastian. San Sebastian’s church, park, playground, mercado and outdoor restaurants are just three blocks from this magnificent vacation rental. In a slightly different direction, a three block walk will take you to Parque Ermita, where you will find the Ermita church which used to be every pilgrim’s stop on the way to Campeche. Behind this church is a lovely botanical garden, and in front of it is a small park with a gazebo and free WIFI… a lovely place to watch the people of the neighborhood gather as the sun goes down.

Castillo en el Cielo is a magnificent hacienda-style villa and vacation rental in a modest neighborhood, hidden behind a non-descript facade. When the door opens to the off-street parking garage, beyond the garage stretches a magnificent pasillo (passageway), leading to the house, the pool and the tropical garden beneath a sacred Ceiba tree.

One Room or Five?

A unique feature of this magnificent vacation rental is that you can stay in the house, even if you only want one bedroom. There are five bedrooms altogether… a Master Bedroom and a Guest Bedroom upstairs, with the Master Bedroom overlooking a spacious and sunny patio, which itself overlooks the pool and luscious garden below. The Guest Bedroom looks out onto the back patio, where both bedrooms have access to the outdoor bathtub and the third floor terrace.

Downstairs, there is a third bedroom with easy access to the bar and pool area, and it looks out onto the garden through lovely arched windows. Two additional bedrooms are found in their own independent building at the front of the house where they share both a spacious bathroom and a kitchenette, both with two-story tall ceilings and their own entrance.

The cost of electricity is included for daily and weekly rentals. Monthly rental prices do NOT include electricity charges.

Reservations

Reservations should be requested via email and will be confirmed the same way. A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to ensure your reservation. If you cancel your reservation, a 20% cancellation fee will be charged. The remaining 50% of the rental fee will be due upon arrival.

POLICIES

• House cleaning is included twice a week. Additional cleaning can be arranged for an additional cost.
• Maximum occupancy is 10 people.
