This video is an introduction to Yucatan produced by Mexico International Real Estate. It’s a photo montage of people, places and events from around the Yucatan Peninsula. Some of our readers may recognize many of the photographs from the Yucatan Living website. That’s because all the photos are from our library, taken over the years by the Working Gringos. The video will be used to open a series of real estate seminars being presented in several major cities across the United States. For more information about the seminars, contact Mitch Keenan at Mexico International Real Estate.

Great video! (I particularly liked the photo of Wal Mart ;+} )
Nice video! I really enjoyed it.
GREAT travelogue video. I am sending it to friends in the USA who are thinking about coming to visit us in Valladolid – so they can get an idea of some of the sightseeing potential here in the Yucatan for their visit.
AWESOME……………….i’m so glad that i’m moving there in two weeks……………..nos vemos pronto
This is a slide show – not a video. It is an excellent slide show with great music – but too fast to soak up. I would wish it were a video and took more time.
Seamus, you are so right. It is a slide show. The music is by Carlos Vives, by the way, and the song is called La Maravilla.
More videos to come soon… stay tuned!!
Love the slideshow! My family plans to move to the Yucatan this year. Love the people, culture, vibrant life seems to abound. Can anyone tell me about the Beach areas and “Pests”? I am curious if there are sand fleas known in some areas? I have also read about Portuguese Man O War, Jellyfish, Stonefish, StingRays and the like….which, if any, Yucatan beach areas are impacted, Seasonal?
Thank you
Nice!!!!
I’m sure it will have everyone interested in the Yucatan at those seminars!
Great job!
Wow, that’s just a super video. Kudos to all who worked to put it together and bring it to light. Let’s hope it helps Yucatan pull out of the tourist recession and counter all the misconceived bad publicity about “Mexico.”
Thank you!
Great slideshow. The music gave it just the right punch. I was in the Merida area back in March and it was amazing. The homes tour was great. I can only hope that someday I’ll be living somewhere in Mexico.
I loved the photography, fantastic shots. My one and only gripe is the speed……………………………..WAY TOO FAST.
I loved the colors, smiles, and everything in between but it made my eyes hurt from the speed.
Sorry guys.
I loved it but couldn’t endure the eye strain again.
Please,please slow it down.
I set the speed of my slide shows to 4 seconds . I’m not saying this is an ‘industry standard’ it just works for me.
Beautiful!
Great job guys! I just left Chelem but I’ll be back to the La Chichi and La Peregrina for a Corona Christmas. We are coming with lots of Gringos! Best wishes.
Great video. Loved the music and all the smiling faces. A true artistic piece. Keep up the good work. It was the right speed with the music. Tell the people who can’t take the speed to put their teeth in before they watch it again. Great job. I hope I can meet you one day when I am visiting. Bob Bedrossian
Very nice. An excellent quick look at the Yucatán. My only question is, why use the music of a Colombian for the sound track. I like that particular song along with the rest of his music but wouldn’t a local artist have been more appropriate?
Colombians live here too, Patti…and besides, we just liked it! Roque, the Yucatan will be happy to see you again, como siempre!
I also enjoyed the video a lot because it shows (in a blink of an eye) what the Yucatan Peninsula looks like but what I disagree with is the title of the story (although in the description a clarification is made). What I mean is the following:
Based in the pictures on the video what we are seeing is the Yucatan Peninsula (the states of Yucatan, Campeche & Quintana Roo as a whole) and not just “Yucatan” (the state) as the title (this is Yucatan) seems to imply. We must remember that often when the Yucatan name is used it refers only to the state of Yucatan and when we use Yucatan Peninsula we refer to 3 states, not just one.
While the “clarification” was made in the description of the video, the title is simply (IMHO) just misleading because for those who are not aware of the difference of what the state of Yucatan vs the Yucatan Peninsula implies, may get the idea that cities such as Campeche, Cozumel, Playa del Carmen, etc., lie indeed within the state of Yucatan and that is simply not the case.
In my opinion the title should have been: This is the Yucatan Peninsula
and not: This is Yucatan.
I loved the speed & the upbeat tempo, makes me want to watch it again, and download the song off itunes. We’ll be there in a few weeks… can’t wait!
Excellent video! I enjoyed it from beginning to end.
Lovely slide show! I have always admired the unique vision of the photography on this site. Only wish that U.S. tour of states would come After my own plan to purchase a home…
Nice slideshow
but, I agree with Patty the music should have been Mexican not Colombian so the viewer can truly feel the Mexican experience from the slideshow.
Great slide show, fast, just one detail is it´s not all of the Yucatan. A more proper name would be Yucatan Peninsula slide show since quite a few of the locations are from a different state, Quintana Roo, which has been separate from Yucatan for over 100 years. I also don´t see the point on showing the golden arches and land rover dealerships. What´s so nice about simbols of obesity, wastefull luxury and overconsumpion in a state full of blatant contrasts between the very rich and the malnourished, where salaries are a third of the living wage and many survivie on less than 2 dollars a day.
The rest of the slides are very nice and show a lot of the color and flavor of the area.
As someone who grew up here I can say it´s very nice.
Thanks
The video makes the Yucatan look like a wonder place to visit and live. Beautiful photographs. I just wish I had a little bit more time to look at them. I can’t visually process quite so quickly. Maybe it’s just me.
Great video,i’m a yucateco living in Canada and it feels good watching this video.Thanks.
Very interesting video–sure beats anything I could come up with to show the diversity and flavor of the Yucatan. Thanks!
I just came back from the Yucatan yesterday. I had a wonderful time. The People, the food, shopping, many attractions there make me want to return many times. I enjoyed your show VERY much.
Wow!
Too short, a little too fast
But you did good!
Nice multi-media clip. As winter approaches here in Boston, makes me wish I were there.
Saludos
Can someone tell me the name of the song and group that performed the music for this video? IT IS excellent!! A very fun and uplifting tune.
Loved it! What´s the name of the song and singer. Great tune!
The singer is Carlos Vives and the song is “La Maravilla”.
This video/ slide show is excellent. It is very hard to transmit all of the qualities not only Yucatan but all of Mexico has. With the challenge it is to transmit the feeling a beautiful place like Yucatan gives to all visitors in a video with absolutely no words but the ones the images describe, this creation jumped that barrier of distance in a heartbeat. All of the natural beauty, the very friendly people, and the joy it is to have the pleasure of visiting or making Mexico your home. Every critic is simply an opinion just like mine. Every single part of this clip met exactly the purpose of making you feel how Yucatan is full of amazing vibe and that it is composed of culture and the passion that all of its diverse residents share. I can sincerely say that there is no other place in our continent that has the hospitality and that welcomes you with full opened arms the way Mexico does. Mexico knows that the true secret behind an amazing and delicious dish or a paradise appearing Hacienda for their tourist lies in the sincere joyful customer service and welcome its visitors experience! The song used in this video describes exactly the smiles the pictures show, the fun behind every activity, the joy it is to have the pleasure of waking up in such an amazing gift of nature. The speed of the video makes you feel that adrenaline and excitement you feel when you cannot believe how much rare beauty is gathered before your eyes!!
Congratulations….
