Hola, Vijay, and welcome to the website!

The workmanship in Mexico ranges from bad to fantastic... you just have to get the right people. We suggest Yucatan Custom Furniture (www.yucatancustomfurniture) for custom-made pieces. We're working on their new website, but for now you can get their contact info from not-yet-upgraded one.

Shipping from Merida to Playa? Not sure of the best way... but that is why there is YES! Yucatan Expatriate Services (www.yucatanyes.com) Go to their website and chat with or email Adriana. YES can help you with all those questions of moving, importing, etc. (and much more!)

Hello

These articles are awesome.

I am planning a trip soon to Playa to decorate a friend's apartment. I want to combine classic modern pieces with antiques from Mexico.

I am thinking to have the sofa made in Mexico - how is the workmanship?

Would Merida be the best place to do my shipping?

Any idea who I can contact to bring some modern pieces from Houston to Playa?

Thank you so much.

Thanks for a great service of where to look. Very Helpful-we have only been to Dr. Guzman, also shared by the woman who did Roses and Chocolate. And Yes, sharing is a good thing, it will bring more dealers, and stuff and taste and FUN!
thanks,
Liz

You can find some great chandeliers and sconces in the antique stores. Sometimes they need to be restored, and the antique store owners will often do that for you. Candiles, on the corner of Calle 66 and 59, is another good place to look.

Antiguedades Jorge (listed above) has an amazing selection of old door hinges and other hardware.

Hi.

I am looking for colonial chandeliers and wall sconces, and other authentic lighting fixtures. What is the best place to shop for them in Merida? Any suggestions on antiques for lighting, antique door hinges, etc.

Thanks
